I've got a lathe on site here but it's about 100 years old and I don't know how to use it well. I also need to figure out a way to reduce the length of the brass piece so that the hex section screws down flush with the top of the body, and the excess space above the top is removed. My mock-up is here, i think its a bit longer than it needs to be (the body without the brass nipple thing is 3.9"), and i also think I need to trim off the "lip" on the NPT insert I used.
